Canoeing across the Raab River, swimming in the fresh water, making friends from
all over the world and sharing these valuable experiences with them… These were
some of the aspects that I loved during the six days of the Rotary Summer Camp
hosted by Rotary Club Feldbach.

Meeting 19 young people from various parts of the world was
most exiting for me. I attended this camp to get to know people from different
countries and learn about them and their culture. In Australia, meeting people
from Slovenia, Croatia, Denmark, Belgium, Sweden and Austria all in one place is
rare. So I really treasured the time that I had with them. We found our
international language, English, and had no problem communicating with each
other. It was quite interesting to know, that many of them had come to the
Summer Camp to improve their English.

On the second night, members of Rotary Club Feldbach drove
to Hungary and joined us for a real campfire Goulash. We really enjoyed the
company of the Rotarians. We danced Australian bush dances to the music that a
Rotarian played with his accordion. We also sang around the campfire as the fire
blazed and the sounds of the wood crackling filled up the clear starry night.
